The Salzburger Land – all year round
Get to know the country and its people
In the heart of Austria lies our homeland, the Pinzgau in Salzburger Land. The mountains made themselves at home here millions of years ago and shape the image of the region with their proud beauty. Geographically located between the Kitzbühel Alps, the Hohe Tauern National Park and the Steinernes Meer, Pinzgau attracts visitors with an adventure land of nature and city experiences, culinary delights and art, sport and shopping.
Well-known sights, such as the Grossglockner High Alpine Road or the mighty Krimml Waterfalls, as well as undiscovered wonders of millennia-old mule tracks and hidden mountain lakes are just a short drive away. Just an hour’s drive away is the Mozart city of Salzburg with its big city flair, coffee houses and cultural diversity of art, architecture and music.
Enjoy your vacation with us in the mountain village according to your wishes. If you are drawn out of our Premium Eco Restort in between, the Pinzgau, the Salzburger Land or the Mozart city of Salzburg offer a wonderful backdrop to create real vacation memories.

PRIESTEREGG Ballooning
So close to happiness
Before the day fully awakens, we will pick you up at your retreat and chauffeur you to the launch site. You will enjoy coffee and pastries by the warming campfire before taking off in a hot air balloon. Over stony seas and lively valleys, over reflective lakes and evergreen forests. Familiar things take on a whole new perspective and new things reveal their hidden beauty. After the flight (duration approx. 1.5 hours, bookable all year round), we will pick you up again and crown the adventure with a hearty balloonist’s breakfast and the obligatory balloon naming ceremony.
OLD TOWN OF SALZBURG
Experience world cultural heritage up close
The city of Salzburg is one of the most popular excursion destinations in the world and is certainly not a UNESCO World Heritage Site for nothing. Castles, parks, museums and churches surrounded by breathtaking natural landscapes await you. But the countless stories surrounding this wonderful city also want to be told and heard.
Just over an hour’s drive from PRIESTEREGG, Salzburg offers you an enormous variety of destinations and sights. Take the classical paths of Mozart and his birthplace and discover culture in the form of concerts, theaters and possibly also the Salzburg Festival.
Mozart has left his mark on the entire old town of Salzburg, turning it into an open-air museum. The themed walk “Stadtwandern: Mozart” starts at Mozart’s birthplace in Getreidegasse and takes you through the most important stages of his life. From the other side of the river and the main building of the Mozarteum Foundation to the Mozart monument on Mozartplatz and the original baptismal font in the cathedral, the city’s most famous resident left his mark on every corner.
CASTLES & FORTRESSES
Simply majestic
Salzburg is just as magical as your own chalet in PRIESTEREGG. Countless castles and the Hohensalzburg Fortress are potential excursion destinations and promise to enchant!
Hohensalzburg Fortress rises high above the rooftops of Salzburg’s baroque old town. The largest, fully preserved castle in Central Europe entices visitors with a 360-degree view of the city and its surroundings. In the middle of the city you will also find the old and new Residenz, where the Salzburg Glockenspiel plays its famous melodies three times a day.
Among the castles worth seeing are Mirabell Palace with its gardens, Klessheim Palace, Hellbrunn Palace with its trick fountains and the picturesque Leopoldskron Palace. Impressive buildings and a touch of romance take visitors back to a bygone era that still has an impact today.
EXPERIENCE SALZBURG’S CULTURE
History and modernity
The cultural city of Salzburg offers its visitors a diverse portfolio for every interest. Nature, technology, art, national history – all this can be experienced in Salzburg’s museums.
The DomQuartier is located in the heart of the city and is an absolute cultural highlight. In its magnificent rooms, history comes to life and offers impressive views of the city. Those who have had enough of the “old” can turn to the modern. The Museum der Moderne Salzburg is located high above the rooftops of the city and presents international art treasures from the 20th and 21st centuries on a total of four levels.
The House of Nature, one of the city’s biggest crowd-pullers, takes you from prehistoric times into the future. And the Christmas Museum above the Glockenspiel Café on Mozartplatz in the Old Town is completely different, but no less exciting. Christmas almost all year round? Salzburg offers you that too.
If you can’t get enough of the sights and want to get to know every last corner of Salzburg and its surroundings, then you can also discover one of the following excursion destinations for yourself:
- Salzburg Hellbrunn Zoo
- Stiegl-Brauwelt
- Red Bull Hangar
- Salzburg Open-Air Museum
As you can see, whether you’re big or small and whatever your interests, Salzburg has the right excursion destination for you. The only thing you should bear in mind is to plan enough time. After all, you are here to relax. Simply plan your museum tour from the comfort of your chalet and choose carefully where you want to go.
FEEL THE CITY OF SALZBURG
On the pulse of life
In addition to its great history, Salzburg is also a dynamic and vibrant city that attracts visitors with its shopping opportunities, parks, cafés, varied gastronomy and, last but not least, casinos. So if your heart is beating at a faster pace, you’ve come to the right place in Salzburg.
The Getreidegasse is an integral part of your lively city tour. Large international fashion chains are lined up alongside historic inns and unique traditional businesses. Linzer Gasse, on the other hand, is the heart of Salzburg’s old town. Charming boutiques, fine restaurants and historic hotels invite you to linger and stroll. And if you are looking for well-known brands at the best prices, you can also head to the Designer Outlet Salzburg.
If you want to challenge your luck a little, you can also visit the Casino Salzburg or the one in Zell am See. In any case, we wish you the right amount of luck and some thrills.
BEAUTIFUL SALZBURGER LAND

Want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city? The Pinzgau region offers you a variety of opportunities to explore the magic of nature. The glacier on the Kitzsteinhorn can be reached in 30 minutes by car and offers you an impressive, natural backdrop for dreaming and switching off.
The National Park Center of the Hohe Tauern National Park in Mittersill is another worthwhile excursion destination. Here you should not miss the Krimml Waterfalls with a total drop height of 385 meters. They are the highest waterfalls in Austria and are located on the edge of the village of Krimml in the Hohe Tauern National Park.
At the foot of the Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge mountains and the foothills of the Steinernes Meer, there are three extraordinary natural monuments: Vorderkaserklamm, Lamprechtshöhle and Seisenbergklamm – the “Saalachtal natural wonders”. Here, nature has created uniquely shaped rocks, raging waterfalls and one of the largest cave systems in Europe in a very small space. This is a special excursion destination for nature-loving visitors.
