Whether skiing, cross-country skiing, tobogganing, ice skating, snowshoeing or a romantic horse sleigh ride – thanks to our wonderful location in the face of the Leoganger Steinberge mountains, we are an excellent starting point for winter adventures of all kinds. You can start many activities directly from the front door of your Chalet. Others can be reached within a short transfer time. This is what awaits you around our Eco Resort.

SKI & SNOWBOARD
Fantastic slopes for every skill level
During your winter vacation in our mountain village in Austria, the ski slopes are almost right in front of your chalet! The mountain village of PRIESTEREGG is located in the middle of the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, the largest directly connected ski destination in Austria. 270 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes, 70 modern lifts and endless fun on the slopes await you! From easy family runs and gentle beginners’ slopes to challenging World Cup runs or the Nitro Snowpark Leogang – you can discover the diversity of skiing in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn. And all with just one ticket: with the ALPIN CARD, you have access to an incredible 408 kilometers of pistes in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn ticket network with the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See and the Kitzsteinhorn Kaprun glacier ski area.
So that you can get to the slopes without delay, you can buy your day and week tickets directly at the reception of our chalet village. Our free ski shuttle will then chauffeur you to the cable cars in Leogang and back again. If you prefer to drive your own car, you can park in the exclusive PRIESTEREGG parking spaces directly at the lift access to the Asitz gondola (guaranteed for PREMIUM, LUIS TRENKER, WILLY BOGNER chalet, WILDERER Villa, Villa ETANER, subject to availability for BERG chalet). So that you don’t have to transport your equipment every day, lockers are reserved for you in the Sport Mitterer ski depot directly at the cable car.
A perfect day on the slopes of the so-called Home of Lässig here in Salzburgerland also includes a stop for refreshments: you have more than 60 ski huts to choose from. The rustic huts serve Pinzgau specialties as well as the finest haute cuisine. You will find very special delicacies in our hendl fischerei opposite the Asitz mountain station. Huwi’s grilled chicken, which awaits you there, is world-famous and the spicy ripperln and Steckerlfisch also provide taste explosions of a special kind.

COUNTRY SKIING
When full-body training meets wonderful moments in nature
Instead of snowboarding or alpine skiing, you can also explore the varied winter landscape around our Eco Resort on cross-country skis. After all, Saalfelden Leogang has developed into a real cross-country skiing and biathlon stronghold in Austria in recent years. 150 kilometers of trails for every style lead through tranquil forests, across gentle meadows and past charming villages. A top-maintained network of superlative trails – to compare the size: the Austrian cities of Vienna and Linz are 155 km apart as the crow flies.
While there are two night trails at Ritzensee and the Höhenloipe Grießen, you can find out whether you have what it takes to be a biathlete in the Nordic Park at Ritzensee. You should have a steady hand when you get to the target shooting after the kilometers of cross-country skiing.
TOBOGGANING & SLEDGING
On fast paths into the valley
Sport, speed and fun: here in Saalfelden Leogang you’ll find all of this while tobogganing. You can get up the mountain on foot or comfortably by cable car (on the Asitz – free of charge with the Saalfelden Leogang Card) or shuttle cab (on the Biberg). But there’s only one way to get downhill: Speed down on two runners!
The four-kilometre-long toboggan run on the Asitz, which is just a 10-minute drive from our chalet village, offers unforgettable tobogganing fun during the day and several times a week – on an illuminated run – also at night. Action-loving night owls are also in the right place on the Biberg in Saalfelden with its six-kilometer-long, floodlit natural toboggan run.
ICE SKATING
Sparkling ice and action-packed competitions
A trip to Lake Ritzensee, which is around 10 kilometers from us, is always worthwhile. While swimming enthusiasts meet there in summer, the frozen lake becomes a natural ice rink in winter. Whether pirouetting or elegantly skating laps – what could be better than gliding across the ice of the lake with a view of the Steinerne Meer! Whatever the weather, ice skating fun is at home in the ice rink in Zell am See. The Zeller Eisbären ice hockey team also trains there and enjoys cheering spectators at matches. For those who prefer their own action on the ice, the ice speedway at Brandhof or curling – a special sport that is particularly popular in the Alpine region – are the right choice.
WINTER AND SNOWSHOE HIKING
Conscious moments of silence
Escape from everyday life – there are many different ways to do just that in our alpine hut village in Salzburg: one of the most nature-loving is winter and snowshoe hiking in Saalfelden Leogang. Discover the most untouched corners of Salzburgerland far away from the pistes and cross-country ski trails. With every step in the lightly crunching snow, you will notice how the hustle and bustle of everyday life fades into oblivion and only the natural treasure of the here and now counts.
If you would like to experience nature in its purest form in the company of a trained guide, we will be happy to arrange this for you at PRIESTEREGG! You will also find particularly rewarding snowshoe tours at the Ansitz or the Saalfelden Biberg. The 40-minute tour to the viewing platform at Lake Ritzensee, for example, is a great winter hike.
HORSE SLEIGH RIDE
Romantic tour through the winter wonderland of Saalfelden Leogang
With all the sporty winter activities, do you need a moment to enjoy yourself? And don’t want to miss out on the wonderful winter landscape around our chalet village? In moments like these, you can rely on the strong Noriker horses and their coachman. Wrapped in warm blankets, they will guide you and your favorite person(s) along snow-covered paths through our breathtakingly beautiful region. A horse-drawn sleigh ride in Saalfelden Leogang is one of the most peaceful ways to consciously slow down. Tip: Moonlight creates a particularly mystical atmosphere!
KIDS ON SKI
We get the next generation on skis – for free!
We offer children aged 3-5 years the opportunity to learn to ski while having lots of fun – free of charge. In selected weeks, accommodation, ski hire, ski tickets and ski lessons are free for children (with two full-paying adults).
The Kids on Ski package includes:
- 7 nights free of charge in the parents’ chalet
(with at least 2 full-paying adults, for children aged 3-5 years who are not of school age, only outside the winter vacations) - 5 x half-day ski course (2h) for beginners only – in the morning – start Sunday or Monday
- Extra charge for full-day ski course possible
- Ski rental for 6 days
- Free 6-day ski pass
Helicopter flights in winter
When the snow hides the mountain world beneath it, ice creates works of art from mountain water and a very special calm pervades the countryside, the Alps are a truly magical sight from above. If you like, you can experience this scenery around our chalet village up close on a helicopter flight over the Austrian mountains. Our partner Sennair will pick you up at PRIESTEREGG for a fascinating helicopter flight and show you the tremendous treasures of our homeland. Would you like to travel to and from our chalet hotel by helicopter or jet off on a day trip to Vienna or Salzburg in between? You can also book this as a helicopter flight.
